A proposed memorial to troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan is running into someSt. Louisopposition but it has nothing to do with the troops.

A private not for profit group called "Missouri Military Memorial Foundation" has been raising money to build a memorial across from Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis.

This area is called the Court of Honor and already has memorials to the fallen from past wars.

But at least one member of the Gateway Mall Advisory Board says the latest proposal for the new memorial is not complimentary to the existing monuments and wants to see a smaller monument like those added for troops killed in Korea and Vietnam.
