Schools Changing Menus After Government Released New Nutritional Standards

Schools are making over meals they serve up to students. The government released new nutritional standards, slashing sodium and limiting calorie intake for children.

Lunches will include more fresh fruits, veggies and whole grains.

The Parkway District says it’s been making small changes for awhile now.

The federal plan will be phased in over a three year period and starts in the 2012-2013 school year.
