Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was in Cottleville, Missouri for a campaign stop.

More than 200 people were at St. Charles Community College to hear what Rick Santorum had to say. The crowd seemed very pleased with what they heard.

Santorum promised he was not going to run a campaign in the gutter and argued that he has been a much more loyal conservative than either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingirch.

He said as president he would shift what he called a dependence on government to more of a responsibility on individuals.

He also talked about eliminating the corporate tax rate in an effort to draw more business into the US and penalize companies doing business outside of the US by charging them a 35 percent tax unless they invest in infrastructure and technology in the US.

He blames the country’s education woes on parents not willing to get involved and teachers unions that he feels look at the education system as way for them to benefit.

We talked with a number of voters who were impressed, said they didn’t think Santorum was a top tier candidate but now they do.

The Missouri primary is a week from tomorrow.
