There are some big changes in the small Metro East town of Alorton just one month after a federal raid on City Hall and the mayor’s home.  The Belleville News Democrat reports Alorton Mayor Randy McCallum has resigned amid a federal investigation into corruption in village government.

Federal agents raided Mayor McCallum’s home January 5th. They also went through records at the Alorton City Hall. At least a dozen agents were seen at both locations. They removed boxes, a computer, various guns, and a safe from the mayor’s home.

At the time, McCallum said they were looking for documents concerning tax increment financing.
