Visitor Commission Questions Rams About London Home Games
The Convention and Visitors Commission is turning on the heat when it comes to the Rams. The team announced earlier this month that it will play a home game in London for the next three years.
On Friday the CVC said that the team’s lease requires them to play all home games at the dome. The CVC does not want to comment at this time but in a statement they did acknowldege playing overseas would elevate the team’s awareness. The CVC said it notified the Rams of the contract but has yet to hear back from the team.
The CVC must hand over its plan to the team by Wednesday, detailing how the dome will be improved to make it a first tier facility by 2015.
STATEMENT FROM THE ST. LOUIS RAMS
“We think that playing in London is great for the Rams and great for St. Louis. We are in talks with the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission, which is also the region’s chief marketing group, about how to make the most of this opportunity. As the CVC said today, this will ‘elevate an awareness of St. Louis on the global stage.’ We look forward to having amicable and meaningful dialogue with the CVC on many issues and believe those conversations should remain between the parties.”
