FOX 2′s Gateway Stormfest 2012

From tornadoes to flash flooding, St. Louis weather can get crazy fast. That’s why FOX 2 and News 11 are teaming up with the National Weather Service for the 2nd Annual Gateway Stormfest.

Last year was a one for the record book in terms of tornadoes. Forty-eight of the 50 states reported a tornado. That ties as most ever. April 27, 2011 saw 200 tornadoes and was the 2nd most active year of the tornadoes in history.  And at just shy of 1700 tornadoes, 2011 was the second most active year of tornadoes in history on a national scale.

It’s with all of that as a backdrop that we are bringing you this year’s Gateway Stormfest.
