FOX 2 Hosts Town Hall On Heroin Epidemic

The response to our last half hour special on meth and heroin was so overwhelming, Fox 2 decided to take our coverage to the next level.

Our town hall meeting tonight brings together the top minds in treatment, prevention, law enforcement and patients.  The goal is to prevent anyone from trying heroin.  But if they do, there is hope.  We are providing a host of resources to families and addicts.

Heroin has been a problem in the African American community for many years.  This is not a new problem there but the trend in age and gender is changing.  More younger people are using heroin and dying from it.  Also more women are using.  We profiled a program called Basics that is saving lives in the black community.
