Flip Flop Bandit in Custody

LEBANON, IL (KTVI) - Police in Lebanon, IL say a woman who robbed a bank Monday afternoon is now in custody.  Authorities say Carla R. Walker robbed the First Federal Savings Bank on South Madison.

Walker allegedly handed the teller a note and displayed a handgun. She was wearing a track suit and flip flops at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

Police said it didn`t take long for residents in Lebanon to recognize the suspect.

Police found the gun and her clothing at her families home, then found her car parked at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Tuesday morning investigators acted on solid leads and found her in St. Louis.

The suspect has not been formally charged. Lebanon police say she will be facing federal charges.
