The Cardinals were closing in on a 3-game sweep over their rivals from Cincinnati, but Jaime Garcia could not hang on to a 3-0 lead and the Reds rallied for a 4-3 win.  Pinch-hitter Chris Heisey delivered the game-inning hit with a single in the bottom of the 9th.  Fernando Salas was brought on to try and squash the Reds rally, but Heisey smacked the second pitch from Salas in to left-centerfield.

Garcia lasted 4 2/3 giving up 11 hits and 3 runs.  An RBI triple by Rafael Furcal and a 2-run homer by Jon Jay had the Cardinals ahead 3-0.   The Cards fall to 5-2 on the season.
