The Cardinals received their 2011 World Championship rings before Saturday's game, then went out and beat their arch rivals the Cubs 5-1. Lance Lynn won again for the Cardinals, pitching five and a third innings, while allowing just one run and striking out five Cubs hitters.
The Cardinals ignited their offense with a four run fifth inning. Yadier Molina droves in a pair with a single. Then Daniel Descalso's triple scored Molina, making it 3-0. Tyler Greene got the fourth consecutive hit with a single to score Descalso and cap the four run inning. Jon Jay's seventh inning home run capped the scoring to give the Cards a 5-1 lead.
