Cardinals Four-Run Fourth, Beats Cubs on Ring Day

The Cardinals scored four times during a six batter span in the 4th inning, to knock off the Chicago Cubs 5-1 on the the day when Redbirds received their World Series Championship Rings. Lance Lynn (2-0)  pitched 5  1/3 innings, gave up just 4 singles,  and struck out 5. John Jay hit his 2nd home run of the season. The Cardinals lead the league with 13 homers. The game was held up by a 1 hour 59 second rain delay.
