The Jaco Report: April 22, 2012

On the Jaco Report.  Are Charter schools being run as money-making scams by private companies? Or are they one of the last best hopes for kids in lousy school districts?  We talk to Mayor Francis Slay after the state this week ordered a half-dozen charter schools in North City closed.  Does this debacle change his support for Charters?

Also, abandoned St. Louis?  Amazingly enough one property out of five in the city is either abandoned or a vacant lot. What can be done?
