Child Porn Case Investigated in Overland

OVERLAND,MO (KTVI)– A 69-year-old Overland man faces a charge of possessing child pornography. Investigators seized several more computers from Ronald Lee Mills’ home in the 2800 block of Poe on Thursday.

A number of neighbors were shocked over the charges and police say the man would invite neighborhood children into his home.

The Overland Police Chief Michael Laws wants any parents whose children had contact with Mills to contact the police department.

“We`re just concerned that their might be other things going on,” said Laws.  He did say that Mills is not accused of any inappropriate touching.

Police were tipped to the images by a computer repairman.

“The images were located by the repairman who as he should have, reported those,” said Laws.

Laws said some of the images were downloaded through the internet and others were photos of young girls Mills knew.

Laws believed the ages of the unsuspecting victims to range from 3 to pre-teen.

One neighbor said Mills is a grandfather and the last person he would suspect of a charge involving pornography.

Police say their investigation is beginning and will look through a number of computers seized from Mills` home.

Anyone who knows of a child who may have had contact with Mills or who may have information is asked to call Overland Police Detective Steve Hurst at 314.428.4760.
