CLAYTON, MO (KTVI) - We are learning more about the situation surrounding the resignation of Clayton High School Principal Louise Losos.

The district announced Saturday that Losos had resigned after allegations surfaced that Losos was posing as a high school student on Facebook.

Clayton School District officials met with the faculty and staff at Clayton high school Monday morning regarding the resignation Dr. Louis Losos.

A spokesperson for the district Chris Tennill says news of the resignation broke so late on Friday that district officials couldn`t meet with staff until Monday morning.

All the district has said publicly is that 'the district and Dr. Losos had a fundamental dispute concerning the appropriate use of social media.'

Losos had been the principal of Clayton high school since 2005.

Her resignation takes effect on June 30th.

A recent Clayton high graduate alleged that Losos was posing as a high school student on Facebook with a page under the name of 'Suzy Harriston.'

The person on that page was trying to friend Clayton students and parents and apparently several hundred people had friended Harriston allowing that person to read their Facebook comments.

We were not allowed into the meeting between district administrators and faculty.

It happened as students were arriving for classes.

We`re told an announcement is also being made to students about the resignation and that details on who is taking over should be made public Monday.

The district says Losos has been on a paid leave of absence for personal reasons since last month and she will remain on paid leave for the rest of the school year.
