Beltran hits 2 Home runs, Cards beat Diamondbacks 6-1

Carlos Beltran continued his torrid power surge with the Cardinals by hitting two home runs and leading the Cardinals to a 6-1 in Arizona on Tuesday night. Beltran his a two run home run in the first inning and added a grand slam home run in the 2nd inning. Beltran now has ten homers so far in 2012 with 26 ruins batted in. Beltran also has a .288 batting average.

The early six run lead allowed Cardinals starting pitcher Jake Westbrook to relax and coast to a seven inning scoreless outing. Westbrook also struck out eight batters in those seven innings of work to improve his record to 4-2.

Kyle Lohse pitches tomorrow for the Cardinals as they go for the sweep of the D’Backs in Arizona on Wednesday.
