Fox 2 Special: Under Your Skin
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– The Missouri legislature is expected to pass the first ever tanning bed law. It requires anyone 17 and younger to have annual parental consent before they use a tanning bed.
Until now, tanning salons were not required to have parental consent, however most salons already required consent. Missouri would become one of 32 states to have tanning restrictions for teens or complete bans.
The Indoor Tanning Association is in favor of the parental consent requirement for clients of tanning salons, but was against the government requiring it.
