Healthcare Plan Could Pass Soon In Missouri
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– It could soon be legal in Missouri for your employer to refuse to pay for health care coverage that includes contraception. But it doesn’t stop there.
The bill that’s passed the Missouri house would also let health care providers refuse to take part in any procedure or handle any drug that violates their religious or moral beliefs.
That could include anything from contraceptives to HIV drugs. Supporters say it gives health care professionals and employers freedom of conscience. Opponents say the idea is ridiculous.
This proposal still has to get through the Missouri senate and be signed by Governor Jay Nixon.
