(KTVI) - A costume meant to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was met with criticism at a school in Colorado. Sean King is a second grader. For his class project, he was assigned to portray Dr. Kinig
So Sean decided to pain his face black. It seemed innocent, but some people at the school found the costume offensive and the principal said the face paint had to go.
Sean's parents believe the school went a little too far and they ended up taking him home from school. Despite all the controversy, Sean's parents plan to keep him in school for the rest of the year.
