ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A standoff in St. Louis has ended after a suicidal man surrendered to police. The SWAT Team was called in after the standoff entered its second hour.

Police had closed Grand and Chouteau around 6:30 a.m. after the suicidal man barricaded himself inside Scrappy's Scrap Metal business.  Police had tried talking the man out. He had reportedly cut himself and set his truck on fire.

Around 8:20 a.m., the SWAT Team moved into position and the man surrendered.   He was taken away from the scene by ambulance.  The man was struggling with relationship issues, according to police.

Workers are now being allowed into the area and the situation has been resolved.
