Berkman’s Knee Injury Explained
(KTVI) – Cards player Lance Berkman injured his leg Saturday night in a routine play. He could be out six to eight weeks. It happened as Berkman stretched to get a throw at first. A torn meniscus and cartilage was the outcome. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday.
Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Richard Lehman is familiar with this procedure. He explained the details to us.
General Manager John Mozeliak said Monday an MRI did not appear to show ligament damage.
Berkman is 36 years old.
