ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A man is in the hospital Wednesday morning after being shot in north St. Louis.  He was shot in front of a house, but paramedics found him a block away around 12:35 am.

City police say a black male in his early 20s was shot in the shoulder.  This was near the O'Fallon Place Apartments in the 1700 block of Preservation Place.

When fire department medics arrived to treat the victim, they had to go a block away to the 1200 block of Hogan.  The victim escaped his attackers and finally collapsed there.

Police say he was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  The victim is in stable condition and expected to survive.

Police say there are no witnesses and no suspects in this shooting.

This was not the only shooting overnight. In south St. Louis, police say a man was walking with a friend through Benton Park around 10:30 pm Tuesday.

Officers say three suspects with clothing wrapped around their faces started chasing and shooting at the pair.  The suspects hit a 34-year-old man in the foot.

There are no suspects in that case, either.
