Alton Cemetery Holds Rare Sunset Ceremony

ALTON, IL (KTVI) – A rare Memorial Day ceremony in Alton honors past and present veterans.
   
For a cemetary that was all but forgotten seven years ago due to neglect and lack of funding. Monday’s sunset service is an remembers those that have gave and sacrificed for our freedom.  Out of the 166 national cemetaries only three have sunset services

With the help of countless volunteers that brought this cemetary back from from near extinction. It on days like Memorial Day that they feel will make it possible to see many more sunset services to come.
