MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI) - A boater on Creve Coeur Lake sprung into action to help save the life of a drowning man. He literally pulled him by the hair to safety.
Ward Twyford and his wife were boating near Creve Coeur lake's beach front when they saw an empty paddle board float by. Then they heard screams for help.
Twyford, who retired as assistant fire chief for Frontenac motored over to the man. He described getting a grip on the sinking victim.
