Illinois Lawmakers Pass Gambling Expansion Bill Again

(KTVI) – Illinois lawmakers are again passing a massive gambling-expansion plan that proposes to create five new casinos, a land-based site in Chicago and four more riverboat casinos.  It also allows the first-ever slot machines at horse racing tracks, like Fairmount Park.

The bill could produce around $300 million in tax revenue for Illinois every year.

Last year lawmakers passed a similar measure, but Governor Pat Quinn vetoed it.
