(KTVI)-Over the weekend, the St. Louis Blues agreed to a three-year entry level contract with forward Vladimir Tarasenko. Tarasenko was drafted by the Blues in the first round of the 2010 Entry Draft.

Tarasenko, 20, is a 6-foot, 202-pound forward. He has spent the last four years in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League, recording 100 points including 52 goals and 48 assists in 176 games.

On Monday, St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong issued the following statement regarding Vladimir Tarasenko.

“There have been inaccurate reports stating that Vladimir Tarasenko has signed a contract to play hockey in Russia. I have confirmed with the player and his agent that these reports are 100% false and Vladimir is committed to join our organization for the upcoming season. We will have no further comment on this matter.”
