Arizona City Water Worker Crushed By Giant Cactus
YUMA, AZ. (BBC) – A Yuma city water department was called out to a water emergency Thursday, to fix a water leak, when a 16 foot Giant Saguaro Cactus toppled over, crushing him. William Mason’s fellow workers were able to get the cactus off him and he was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Giant Saguaro Cactus, common in the southwest, can weigh thousands of pounds, depending on how much water they hold.
Mason remains in intensive care, with serious injuries to his back and legs. Doctors had to remove over 150 cactus spines from Mason.
