ST. LOUIS (AP) – Two trial judges and a St. Louis lawyer have been nominated for an upcoming vacancy on the Missouri Court of Appeals’ Eastern District. The seat will open up when Judge Kenneth Romines retires after seven years on the court. Finalists for the seat are St. Louis Circuit Judge Lisa Van Amburg, St. Louis County Circuit Judge Michael David and attorney Erwin Switzer, of the firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale PC. The nominees were chosen by Missouri’s Appellate Judicial Commission, which consists of the state’s chief justice, three attorneys and three non-lawyers from around the state. Their names were forwarded this week to Gov. Jay Nixon. The governor has 60 days to make the appointment, which does not need confirmation by state lawmakers.
