St. Louis Woman Shot & Killed In Alabama
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Huntsville nightclub. Two people were shot, and one of the shooting victims has died.
It happened just before 2 a.m. at Bench Warmer on University Drive. According to Huntsville Police, a fight inside the bar continued into the parking lot. Police say two people had guns and started firing into the crowd, hitting a man and a woman who were in a car. Over 10 shots were fired.
Police say a bullet went through the back windshield of the vehicle, hitting Isis Keturah Pitts, 20, in the back of the head. The male driver, Deandre Goodlet, 20, was shot in the leg and hand. He started driving down University Drive towards Huntsville Hospital, but later pulled over at the Red Lobster near University Drive and Memorial Parkway. That is where Pitts was pronounced dead.
Pitts was 20 years old and lived in St. Louis. Goodlet is also 20, and lives in Huntsville.
Police are also investigating a car crash that may be connected to the shooting. A silver Chevrolet Impala hit a light pole on Crestview Drive, which is just a few blocks from the crime scene. A witness told police that someone following the wrecked car stopped, picked up the driver, and left.
Huntsville Police have not made any arrests in this case.
