THE DOME OF SUMMER IS IN SOLID CONTROL…THIS WILL STAY LOCKED IN PLACE UNTIL SATURDAY NIGHT..THEN THE EXPECTED SHIFT WILL START TO UNFOLD.

RECORDS:

SATURDAY………..103 1936
SUNDAY……………101 1980

FRIDAY WAS DAY 9 IN A ROW OF 100 PLUS DEGREE HEAT…SATURDAY WILL BE DAY 10 AND THEN IT STOPS…SO THE ALL TIME RECORD WILL HOLD AT 13 DAYS IN 1936…THAT WAS ALSO FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER 9 DAY RUN IN 1936. A FEW FOLKS HAVE BEEN ASKING ME…WHEN THERE ARE NO RECORDS IN THIS HEAT WAVE FROM THE MASSIVE HEAT OF 1954…THAT HEAT CAME LATER IN THE MONTH OF JULY AND AUGUST…THATS WHY IT IS NOT SHOWING UP IN THESE EARLY RECORDS. ON TO THE WEEKEND…SATURDAY…PARTLY SUNNY HOT AND MORE HUMID AS THE DOME OF SUMMER STAYS IN PLACE…THEN AS A FRONT FROM THE NORTH GETS CLOSER…WE START TO LOOK FOR SCATTERED STORMS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY…TYPICALLY YOU WOULD EXPECT SOME WILD WEATHER WITH A FRONT PRESSING INTO THIS HEAT…BUT WITH THE VERY DRY GROUND AND FAIRLY DRY AIR…IT WILL BE A STRUGGLE TO GET ANYTHING WIDESPREAD…HOWEVER–THERE WILL BE SCATTERED STORMS THAT TRIGGER HEAVY RAIN, HAIL, WIND, AND LIGHTNING SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. 80’S RETURN MONDAY AND MUCH OF NEXT WEEK…OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL WORK BACK INTO THE 60’S…AS THE HARD CORE DOME OF SUMMER GETS PUSHED BACK TO THE PLAINS AND THE ROCKIES…NOT SURE HOW LONG THIS WILL HOLD…LETS HOPE FOR A LONG TIME.
