Judge Rules Firefighters Can Stop Pension Reform
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– It looks like the city of St. Louis and the city’s firefighters will be spending a long summer in court. A St. Louis judge has ruled that the trustees of the St. Louis Firefighter’s Pension Trustees can sue the city over the city’s plan to take over the firefighter’s pension plan.
Firefighters will claim the so-called pension reforms can’t be implemented by city hall.
City Hall says the firefighters pension costs are out of control and that the city has the right to change the pension plan.
