BRENTWOOD, MO (KTVI) - Taxpayers are shelling out big bucks to provide free health insurance to the mayor and three aldermen. Brentwood citizens have organized a group in opposition to this deal for officials.

They called in the You Paid For It team to examine this issue. We met with a roomful of concerned citizens and later caught up with the mayor.  Brentwood officials already get a hefty salary for the part time job.  The Mayor gets $14,000 a year; aldermen get $7,000 a year.

Brentwood taxpayers shell out $19,200.00 for the mayor and aldermen to get the free health insurance.  The mayor told You Paid For It officials that he just took what was offered.

Neighborhood website Patch.com covered the You Paid For It team's visit with citizens. Read more about the meeting here.
