For the second straight game a former Cardinal has beaten his former team. On Sunday night it was Scott Rolen. His bases loaded single in the bottom of the 8th inning off Mitchell Boggs broke open a 2-2 tie game. Reds closer Aroldis Chapman then struck out the side in the Cardinals 9th inning to preserve the Reds 4-2 win and sweep over the Cardinals this weekend in Cincinnati.

Yadier Molina did all he could for the Cardinals in this game. Molina had three hits including his career high 15th home run of the season. Molina drove in both Cardinals runs. The loss drops St. Louis four and a half games back of first place Cincinnati in the NL Central Division.
