Two Businesses Damaged by Fire in Godfrey, IL

GODFREY, IL (KTVI) – Two Godfrey businesses were damaged by fire early Thursday morning.  The fire was in the 5400 block of Godfrey Road.

Firefighters arrived on the scene just before 5:00 a.m.  The Round Table family restaurant and Duke Bakery were engulfed in flames. Fire could be seen coming from the top of the buildings. 

The second-alarm fire seemed to be under control about 45 minutes after fire crews arrived.  Firefighters have not yet determined the cause.

According to the Duke Bakery website, the Godfrey location opened in 2003.  The family-owned business have been in operation since 1951 with locations in Alton and Granite City, IL.
