ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Record setting temperatures means huge utility bills. To help consumers, Ameren Missouri is pledging 2.9 million dollars for energy assistance.
“Dollar More” is Ameren’s assistance program designed to help individuals, families and the elderly pay the utility bill. The funds are distributed through thirty nine local agencies. The program was created in 1982 following a similar stretch of scorching heat. And it’s grown over the years. This pledge comes at the perfect time. We’ve heard from consumers who say money usually available through those 39 agencies is drying up.
Ameren Missouri also donated another $600,000 to energy assistance programs not affiliated with “Dollar More”. Go to our website, Fox2Now.com for links to Ameren’s “agency assistance finder”. Customers who want to support the program are reminded to check the dollar more box on their utility bill.
