DES PERES, MO. (KTVI) - The lines were long here at Chick-Fil-A, customers and cars were wrapped around the building all day. Some supporting the company's CEO and others not so much.
Whether you're for or against same sex marriage Chick-Fil-A has become a hot spot for the ongoing debate on the issue. People from across the political spectrum have showed up to support the chain, but that could change for some customers after CEO Dan Cathy made comments opposing same sex marriage.
Both sides made their voices heard Wednesday through patronage and protests. The company issued this statement, "The Chick-Fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect, regardless of their belief, race, creed sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1600 restaurants run by independent owners and operators”.
Gay rights groups are also speaking out saying, they have kiss-in`s planned at Chick-Fil-A locations across the country.
