Body Of Missing Affton Boy Found In Meramec River

PACIFIC, MO (KTVI)– Police say the body found in the Meramec River late Tuesday afternoon is the boy reported missing from Pacific, Missouri.

Authorities say the body has been identified as 12-year-old Christopher Marks.

Rescuers responded to the section of the river about 6 miles downstream from where the search originated.

Chris Marks disappeared Sunday evening while he was at the river near Pacific with family members.

Investigators say the last time someone saw Marks he was on a rope swing above the river at the Pacific Palisades Conservation Area around 7:00pm Sunday.  Moments later, we’re told he disappeared, likely into the water. Chris was last seen wearing blue gym shorts and no shirt.  Monday night, Chris’s family held a prayer service for him right around sunset.
