Police Release Sketch Of Attempted Child Abduction Suspect
COLUMBIA, IL. (KTVI) –Around 8:00 pm Friday night, an attempt was made to abduct an 11-year-old boy in the middle of Columbia, IL. The child says a white man stopped near Locust and N. Main Street and asked him for directions. It was then the man grabbed the boy’s arm and tried to pull him into a mini-van. On Saturday police released an composite sketch.
The boy broke free and ran back to his sister on West Main Street.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 30’s. He had a medium build and complexion. His brown hair was cut in a very short military style. He also had a light goatee and a mole near his left nostril. The subject was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt. Though there was nothing on the sweatshirt, the color is described as similar to the color of the Green Bay Packers football team.
The man was driving a dark red or maroon 2002 to 2005 Dodge Caravan with red front license plate and white letters.
