Cardinals closer Jason Motte wiggled out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 9th inning to help the Cardinals to a 5-4 win over the Pirates on Saturday afternoon at Busch Stadium. Yadier Molina had three hits and 2 RBI in his return after missing two games with back pain. Shane Robinson got a rare start today and delivered a 2 run hit to give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead

Lance Lynn did pitch an scoreless 1st inning, but only lasted into the 5th inning before being pulled from the game. Barret Browning got the win in relief for the Redbirds. Motte gave up an unearned run in the 9th inning, but still got his 28th save of the season.

The win moves the Cardinals to within one game of the Pirates for the second Wild Card spot in the National League.
