(KTVI) – A little clearer sky ahead for American airlines.  Flight attendants have approved a new contract from the airline.  The contract keeps American from seeking larger cuts in the company’s bankruptcy proceedings.

Nearly two-thousand workers could have been forced to take unpaid leave if a deal had not been reached.  Flight attendants joined mechanics in agreeing to new contracts.

The pilots union rejected American’s latest offer last week.
