Two Americans Injured In Hail Of Bullets To Their Car In Mexico City

MEXICO CITY, MX. (CNN) - Unknown gunmen attacked an American diplomatic vehicle south of Mexico City Friday, injuring three people, according to a Mexican military official.  You can see the vehicle has bullet holes in its rear window, and flat tires.  

The Mexican official said three Mexican marines were injured.  But some reports indicated two of the injured were Americans.

The injured passengers were taken to a hospital in nearby Cuernavaca.  

The motive behind the attack is unclear.

The U.S. State Department said it was aware of the reports, but had no immediate comment.  
The Drug Enforcement Administration said it knew of the incident, and said no D-E-A agents were involved.
