St. Louis Police Targeting Crime Hot Spots
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– St. Louis police have starting concentrating manpower on 32 so-called crime hot spots around the city.
The idea is that putting more police in high crime areas between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m can help reduce shootings and murders.
The project’s being monitored by a top criminologist crunching the numbers to see if the strategy works.
Police hope the hot spot strategy will be successful in reducing the number of gun-related assaults.
