Wounded Florissant Police Office Receives Purple Heart For Bravery

FLORISSANT, MO. (KTVI) – Wounded Florissant Police Officer Mike Vernon received a Purple Heart Monday, after being shot by a burglary suspect three times last May.

The mayor and police chief presented officer Vernon the medal during Monday night’s city council meeting.

The mayor encouraged city residents to support Vernon and recognize him for his bravery.
