COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI) - Elizabeth Davis, with the Collinsville Area Recreation District, brought grapes and tubs for the perfect fall activity – grape stomping! That is just one of the exciting activities featured at the Italian Festival .
For the last 28 years, the Italian Fest in Collinsville has celebrated the tradition of stomping grapes as part of its opening ceremony.
There will be live music on both days: Chris Belden, Tony Mirabelli, Al Holliday and The Rhythm Revue, The Buried Clocks, Hicktown, East of Eads, Exit 12, The Alley Kat Band, Johnny Rock-It, Cold Shot, The Ultra Violets.
There will also be more than 24 food vendors including: Italian chicken wings, meatball sub sandwiches, spedini, toasted ravioli, stuffed pasta shells, smoked Sicilian sausage, amaretto kettle corn, Florentine sarsaparilla, Italian pulled pork, cannoli, lasagna, Italian chicken breast sandwich, pizza, Italian spiral potatoes. Beverages include lemonade, soda, water, beer and a wine garden.
Other events: family-friendly 5K run, parade, midnight bike ride, bocce ball tournament at local park, Italian Fest Idol singing contest, and activities for children.
