Burger King Shooting Story May Be A Whopper

SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI) – Police now believe that a 45-year-old man who claimed to have been shot by a suspect at Burger King is a hoax. Sunset Hills Police believe that the man who was the alleged victim is now a suspect. They say the incident actually happened in Jennings.

The story he told investigators is that he been held up at gunpoint while getting out of his car around 8:30pm Monday at the Sunset Hills Burger King. He says he was approached by a man in his 20s who asked him for the time. He claims that when he responded the suspect pointed a gun at him. He claims two struggled and the gun when off.

The man told officers he was able to drive himself home with four gunshot wounds. He has gunshot wounds on his head, shin and right thigh.

The man’s wife did drive him to the hospital. His injuries were non-life threatening.
