Funeral Services Set For NW Missouri State Student Killed

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– Funeral services are set for a Northwest Missouri State University student who died during an assault outside a Maryville bar.

Funeral services for 21-year-old Tomarken Smith, of Jennings will take place Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis.

The burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.

Second degree murder charges have been filed against 31-year-old Kevin Mooney and 23-year-old Tony Overlin in the case.

Police believe the two men attacked Smith after getting into an argument with him.

 During the incident Smith’s head hit the concrete and  he lost consciousness.
