ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Multiple drive-by shootings in the Walnut Park East and North Pointe Neighborhoods in St. Louis City left a 13- year-old boy with serious wounds on Saturday and an adult male with minor ones.
Bullet holes were left in several cars parked in at least 3 locations. The shooting happened mid-afternoon on Saturday.
The adult male was shot once in the arm and grazed on his leg. He was with his girlfriend near West Florissant and Beacon when he was shot.
Officers also roped off an area along Terra Lane where a parked car had been shot. One resident said she ducked for cover inside her house as she heard the shots.
Another longtime resident in the Walnut Park East neighborhood said she does not feel safe anymore.
“It’s not the first time it happened,” said Bernice Henderson. “I don’t think it’s safe at all.”
Karen Winston lives a few houses away from where the teenager was shot.
“Unfortunately you just have people who don’t care about other people,” said Winston. “All you can do is pray for them.”
As of Saturday evening, police were not aware of the condition of the wounded teenager but say he was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital.
