ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – City leaders met on Tuesday to announce the formation of an animal task force.  The mission of this group is to enforce animal abuse and neglect laws. They will attempt to raise awareness of animal cruelty and try to prevent it.

The St. Louis police department will dedicate one full time officer to the team to make sure animal abuse cases get the attention they deserve.  So these cases are handled quickly and professionally.

The Animal Task Force starts work immediately.
