ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Bill Menke has held every job possible in a movie theater. So threading a spool of film on a 1906 projector was a piece of cake. But now these projectors are a thing of the past. That's why Wehrenberg theaters converted all 215 screens in their 15 area theaters to 100% digital. No more flicker from film. These days it's all hard drive.
Your average film would be six reels and more than 12,000 feet long. Not to mention the chemicals involved to processing the prints. Now, it gets plugged in by USB cable and projects to as many as 20 screens in the complex. It's a piece of cake; and almost the same size as one.
