DES PERES, MO. (KTVI) – They all sat in the same movie theatre even though they clearly held different political views.
Some democrats and republicans watched the one and only vice presidential debate from Wehrenberg movie theatres in Des Peres and St. Charles.
The watch party was the result of a partnership with FOX 2 and Patch.com.
Voters listened to Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan battle over issues that focused on foreign policy but included the economy and abortion.
Voters shared their opinions after the debate. Democrats felt Biden was much more aggressive than the president and were pleased that he fought back against what democrats felt were misleading attacks.
"He was clear-cut and easy to understand," said one self-identified democrat.
Republicans were pleased with the way Ryan focused on President Obama's track record.
"He kept his cool and delivered his message," said one self-identified republican.
Lindenwood's Joe Cernik predicts the debate will do little to move undecided voters.
"What it does now is put more pressure on Obama," predicts Cernik. He feels the president must improve on his 1st performance in order to be successful.
The next presidential debate will be a town hall format on October 16th. The final presidential debate is October 22rd.
FOX 2 and Patch.com will partner to televise the final two debates at Wehrenberg's Des Peres 14 Cine and Wehrenberg`s St. Charles Stadium 18 Cine. Admission is free.
