Top Ranked Alabama Rolls Mizzou 42-10
Not even a lightning storm could slow down top ranked Alabama as the Crimson Tide rolled into Columbia and beat the Tigers soundly, 42-10. The game was stopped for 38 minutes in the second quarter due to lightning in the area. The majority of the game was played in driving rain.
The bad weather didn’t affect Alabama’s offense. They gained 533 yards, 362 of them on the ground and were led by Eddie Lacy’s 177 yards and three TD runs. Teammate T.J. Yeldon ran for 144 yards and two scores.
Mizzou scored their only touchdown on a 98 yard kickoff return by Marcus Murphy that cut the Alabama lead to 28-7. Corbin Berkstresser was at quarterback for the Tigers and the two interceptions. He was playing for injured starting QB James Franklin. The loss keeps Missouri winless in SEC Conference play at 0-4. The Tigers overall record on the season is now 3-4.
